Review on Enhance Precision & Safety with MJ SPLITTER SteelPro TK – Powerful Steel Splitter Tool by Ronald Orear

The first attempt to install this splitter wasn't the best. I managed to drill 3 pilot holes until the tip of the drill bit cut into the panel. After contacting MicroJig support they happily sent me a new bit and a new Leecraft ZCI for my concerns. Installation instructions for phenolic ZCIs aren't included in the manual, but they mention it on their website. On their website they mention using a guide to make a few indentations and then take them to the drill press. Since I don't have a drill press I had to do this. So, to address that, I spent my sweet time drilling holes a second time. I spent about 3 seconds submerging the nozzle slightly and then removing it to clean out the channels. Then it was on to the next hole. Finally, rotate each hole several times to allow the bit and material to cool and prevent the bit from chipping and breaking the bit. In general, everything went better the second time. But MicroJig really needs to update the instructions that come with the splitter!
