Review on 🔗 Gates TCK307 Premium PowerGrip Timing Belt Component Kit by Brian Olson

This timing belt kit was as advertised. High quality components (belts and pulleys). The included installation instructions were complete, if a bit cryptic in places. The price represents a significant discount over purchasing the items individually from Subaru. Installation was smooth except that the Gates belt is so tight that installation is a difficult task even with the tensioner loose and the idler pulley removed (per the instructions). Of course, you want the new belt to be as snug as possible so that when stretched during use, it doesn't become too loose and eventually come loose. But still, I don't think it should be that hard unless there's a trick that's not in the instructions that I don't know. This is the third timing belt change I've done over the years and I don't recall a belt installation (on any other car) being that complicated.
