My daughter got it for her first birthday. This is too far for her. So I used it as a controlled game. One thing I would like to point out is that it is difficult to keep the lid closed. It's too hard for little hands to turn around and find the right hole, and it gets frustrating when the lid falls off. There is no latch or strap to hold it. When the lid is snapped in place, you can turn the sides up and easily insert the figures. So it's a little frustrating. In addition, there are multiple shapes that fit in the same hole. So know that she only plays with shapes without a box. All in all, I wouldn't take it again. I usually like Melissa & Doug products, but I would skip this one. I will not stop shopping with Melissa & Doug products and this review should not stop you.
