Every year I buy a new set of these pencils for my kids. I think for the price and purpose they are a good deal. They don't need to be pressed hard to get the colors, and they're moderately soft, which makes them nice to the touch. However, the lead tends to break after sharpening, I think this is due to its softness. We use a special sharpener and they sharpen perfectly, but if you use school sharpeners they keep breaking. Also, I have just received a new set for this year and unlike previous years the picture on Revain does not match the product I received in the 24 pack. The photo shows a wide single-breasted package, but we received a folded narrow package. Also, they no longer have pre-made rounded ends.
