I really like these pens but they have numbers on them not the name of the color. Pretty useless when trying to decide which crayons to choose. Yes, of course I could create my own color guide, but it's a lot easier to take a pen and read the color rather than looking for it.

I chose these to complement my current crayon sets because they were very reasonably priced and didn't impress me too much. Leads are hard, which can be useful for fine detail, but these pens have very little color or saturation. Some of them have rich colors, but most of them are faded. These were generally big disappointments and will most likely be donated to a local school.

The colors of these pens are great but I am very disappointed with the quality. When I sharpened some pencils, it was obvious that some of them had eventually fallen off and the lead inside the pencil had cracked. As a result, the pointed ends simply slipped out and the pencil had to be shortened again. One of the colors had to be sharpened 6 times before I got a piece of lead long enough to actually use the pen. I have to say that the pens feel better in the hand because the colors are easier…

Let me start by saying I'm not an artist. I'm an adult who loves to paint intricate, detailed drawings. From this point of view, these are excellent colored pencils. The colors are vibrant, they lend themselves well to coloring in very small areas, and I've had no problem sharpening these pens (I use a Prismacolor sharpener though, so I don't know if that makes a difference). Every year I buy a new set of these pencils for my kids. I think for the price and purpose they are a good deal. They don't need to be pressed hard to get the colors, and they're moderately soft, which makes them nice to the touch. I bought these for my 90 year old mother to use in her adult coloring book. She hasn't painted or done any artistic work so I didn't want to overload her with too many colors to choose from so a pack of 24 is the perfect size.
