I was looking for nice, inexpensive wine corks so I'm glad I came across this pack. They protrude about an inch from the bottle but are airtight. I laid the bottle on its side (I don't normally do this but wanted to test them for leaks) and they passed the test. Just make sure you push the stoppers down far enough to cover all the rings!
