Tumaz(poly-cotton) is better than others(nylon)!

I was getting interested in yoga due to the epidemic. Just out of curiosity, I purchased 3 different straps from these brands: SANKUU, OPTP, and Tumaz. Their designs look similar, but the textures seem to be VERY different. I then take a look at the material information they provided on Walmart:•SANKUU : Nylon•OPTP : Nylon•Tumaz : Poly CottonNylon is one of the greatest artificial materials as it is silky and smooth. But for work out/exercise/yoga purposes, I would definitely recommend poly-cotton.The main reason is moisture absorbing. Poly-cotton is made of cotton and polyester, and cotton is a much stronger water-absorbent than nylon. That means when you are sweating, poly-cotton can better reduce slippiness, providing much better holding ability. In my opinion, this is a huge advantage in any exercise. What is Nylon?Nylon is a kind of synthetic polymer, used extensively in different types of products. It is light-weight and often has a lustrous surface. However, Nylon can hardly absorb moisture (water absorption: 1.53.5%), which makes it slippery when the surface is wet. On the other hand, it might generate static electricity in a low humidity environment. How about Poly-cotton?Poly-cotton is made up of cotton and polyester fibers. By mixing the natural fiber and artificial fiber, Poly-cotton combines the advantages of both materials. Because of the cotton, poly-cotton becomes a breathable material, easy to absorb moisture, and avoiding slippiness.

Pros
  • Exercise & Fitness
Cons
  • The strap might not be lightweight enough for some travelers
