Hole-y cow is a good tool!

This product is simply irreplaceable! When installed correctly (which is admittedly not difficult, but you can also put the nut in the wrong place) the part generates minimal dust. Other reviewers said it was messy - the drum has to be pushed all the way up against the ceiling/wall you're cutting into. After the hole has been cut, allow the dust to settle for a second before removing the drum. Then carefully take it to the trash can outside and discard the core and dust. The construction will be messy, but you can limit the mess with this tool. Also the holes are perfect if you align the blades correctly. I always install them and measure the distance between the outside edges of the blade before making a hole. Measure the tool twice, cut a hole in the ceiling once! I cut 8.5" holes in fresh drywall for five ceiling speakers (perfect first try) and then 6" holes in plaster for four LED "pot" lights. . The patch was a little stiff, but it still worked. On a previous lighting project I used a basic 6 inch hole saw available at hardware stores. What a mess. This spinning blade that spits out drywall dust like a snow blower at a Florida ski resort. Highly recommended if you want to make more than one hole size or more than a few holes of a certain size, this is a must have.
