Review on πŸ”§ GEARWRENCH 1/4" Drive Metric Hex Bit Socket Set - 6 Piece Set (Model: 80321) by John Fuentes

I was also disappointed with 2mm

In general I love and respect Gear Wrench tools. I have a lot of these at work and in my shop at home. I am a professional mechanic and use their tools vigorously but carefully every day at work. However, I found 2mm too soft. I've had stiffer hex/socket heads that are spiraled/twisted but not rounded at the corners. The 2mm in this set of serrated wrenches is fairly easy to round off and then slide/"grind" into the stud bolt. The bit has entered the grub screw by four or more mm. It had a lot of snags and shouldn't have been rounded. I'm pretty sure the set screw was metric, not inch. Everyone I've ever worked with is ALWAYS metric in their work. I'm looking for another brand of 2mm to fill my kit. The other sizes seem to be holding up very well and I'm happy with the rest of the set. Basically I use 4, 5 and 6mm every day all day and 2mm infrequently, maybe once every few weeks. It is usually possible to clamp the drill in a vise, pry the head off the drill and replace the drill with a cut. part of an Allen key. I'll try if I can't find a decent replacement. As for the best hexes, I recommend the Bondus brand for the most accurate size and hardness; You are very good. By the way, the only time I changed the bit in the manner described above, the bit twisted or broke off; NEVER round corners.
