Review on Dee Zee DZ91717 Brite-Tread Triangle Trailer Box: Durable and Efficient Storage Solution by David Lesperance

The box itself is quite nice. Light and well made, nicely designed and the damper on the lid works well. The shock absorber and its mounting points take up a few centimeters of interior space. I use this box to store spare tires on a Harbor Freight curtain side trailer and the tires barely fit in the box due to the shock absorbers/brackets. The metal is thin. I would recommend adding a 1/2" piece of plywood to the bottom and maybe even 1/4" to the sides. This helps stiffen the metal and protect it from wear and dents, especially when the torx jack goes in. The box will NOT stop a determined thief with a tire lever. It's more like stopping random theft and keeping honest people honest. It would be easy to add a few hasps and I can do it. Mine arrived damaged like the others. The damage was minor, with a few small dents that were barely visible. Functionality was not affected, however the shipping box was quite flimsy and in poor condition. I think I'm lucky.
