We help with foster and feral cats and it seems we've gotten a lot of stray cats over the years so we thought it would be time to get a scanner to save on vet trips. It works great for what it is. He read our 11 year old dog's chip so we know her chip is 11 and we were impressed with that. He then read our new dog's chip that we had chipped just 2 months ago, both on different types of chips. We just take a picture of the room and go online to verify the number. If you google microchip sites you will find several free sites to link to. We are very happy with how quickly it charges, how long it stays charged and that it can be charged in our truck along the way if we need it.
