Well, this thing is just great. My dartboard is in the carpeted office. To set up the oche (line) I would have to invest in a rubber dart mat, which I don't really need. My office is bright with halogen lights and two large windows that let in lots of natural light. All that light doesn't interfere with seeing the red line. It's crystal clear. Batteries just keep working. I thought I would have to change them long before then. Now it seems that what I received is slightly different than what is shown in the picture here. Changed for the better, I hasten to add. Several reviewers noted that the laser can be knocked off easily, requiring you to get out your tape measure and reset the line to the correct distance. The one I received has 2 locking screws on either side of the moving laser so it can be locked in place once installed. If you play a lot you can get a 5v power supply which eliminates the need for batteries but I would let the 4 AA battery pack wear out before investing in it to see if the length of time suits you. you have to burn them.
