You're pretty divided about these things. I'm used to pads absorbing but these don't. So if you have a tiny drop that doesn't spill perfectly on the stand, that drop will stay there until you clean it. Moving the stand to suck up is not an option. I'm also used to drink holders accommodating the full extent of my various cups and mugs. They are smaller than my others - not much smaller but enough to notice. I like that they last a long time because they don't absorb liquid or fall apart - but that means I can clean them. I checked my list of things I like to do and there were no laundry mats anywhere. Generally they are in good condition but I think I prefer paper/cork/whatever. And since they're rubbery, they don't slip easily. I didn't realize I was moving my drink and coaster and all that until I started using them and realized they weren't that easy to use.
