Review on ⚡ Fancy Buying 36V Electric Bike Charger - Enhanced 42V2A Output Lithium Battery Charger with 10 Series Male 3-Pin XLR Socket/Connector by Raymond Iglesias

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Came with a broken pin / won't load.

Mine just arrived with a broken center pin that was just hanging out in the box. I was going to re-solder, but after stripping the cable's sheath (I'm an electrician) I noticed that it's only the positive/negative output anyway and the 3rd pin is only needed to maintain correct polarity (so you can Don't connect it "backwards" - and no, it's not there to ground the metal around the pins - so that's the little piece of metal you see above the 3 pins - and the 3rd picture is actually for that - and a safety feature - but it's still useless as there's no conductor or wire attached to it either). Anyhow, in theory it should still work fine and before ordering I checked I had the correct input/output (from the positive/negative output on the pins) to my huge 36VE bike reference battery so that it works and works properly it was the "right charger". However, when plugged in, I can't get the transformer (illuminated charger) to go red/charge and stay green. And I know the battery is good as it's half full and hardly used, maybe 5 charge cycles. I haven't tried reversing the polarity (in case the +/- on the output is opposite the battery as I don't want to damage the reverse connected battery or charger). But today I'll take a multimeter home and diagnose further - and add to my review. HOPE it's the exact opposite (as I can now insert with the 3rd pin upside down) and that I can still use this and not have to return it. But the mere fact that it even comes with a broken pin on the connector is pretty disheartening and obviously not much attention was paid to the assembly/production of this thing.

Pros
  • Easy setup
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.
