Review on ๐Ÿ’Ž Whirlwind USA GSD 7 in. Diamond Grinding Cup Wheel - Enhanced Efficiency with Double Row Standard and Higher Diamond Concentration (7'') by Ray Cole

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Not worth the price.

We recently needed to replace about a thousand square feet of exterior tile on a concrete slab. We did a similar project at a nearby property two years ago, so we knew what we were getting into and bought some wheels to pull off the old flimsy set. We used a new DeWalt 13 amp grinder on all of them. On a previous project we used a "4" concrete and granite diamond segment disc grinder (blue disc) for only eleven bucks and it worked well and lasted about 350 square feet. We decided to try a few this time to see if we could get more square footage out of the blade or, more importantly, if we could work less hard to remove material (i.e. we were hoping a different blade would be more aggressive and would reduce the effort ). necessary). All blades are listed below, including the one that this review accompanies. We hope this breakdown helps. DeWalt DW4774 4-1/2" Double Row: This blade seemed like the best of them all, but at $35, we doubt it was noticeably better to justify the cost. In terms of durability, we have those completed last 200 sqft of project with this disc and it still worked which might justify the price Blue Version): This option was our favorite of the budget group (and ordered extras.) It covered about 350 sqft throughout and seemed to level out evenly Really good buy for the dollar Whirlwind USA GPST 4.5" Heavy Duty Abrasive Disc: this was the most expensive of the bunch and we were very disappointed with it at first but after using it for a while we found that it does better suited for buffing, not for quick It doesn't seem to wear out at all for the job done and we look forward to using it when we get a smooth finished surface e must ensure. Grind, don't pay the high price, it's definitely not worth it. 4" double row grinding wheel with diamond segment. (Black version): It was the least competent of the bunch. This worked well enough, but only lasted about 200 square feet. In the end, it literally lost all of its teeth and turned into just a smooth, flat wheel Others in the $12 range were much better buys In summary, if you're just grinding a smaller area of concrete (or similar material) and it's not a big project like ours, we think cheap Blades are your best bet Great buy and do the job just as well if not better.
