We only use wood heating. We cut down dead trees for firewood and cut down fallen trees for next winter. They mixed up the firewood, and as a result, wet logs spoiled the merry fire. It's such a weird little gadget to use, but it works well. I thought my friend was crazy when he arrived but I use it to keep the fire going and check the wood for moisture before trying to start a fire in the morning. It came quickly, there is a standard almost English guide that works and there are 4 different settings for different wood hardnesses. We only use one setting and when it reads over 20 we put it next to the wood stove to dry more. Saves some frustration, which is cool.
