I usually wear XL shorts. However, I believe it is 2XL or 3XL. Measured at the waist with no stretch, they are 43". The elastic doesn't stretch and the drawstring doesn't help much if you have to rely on them. Fully stretched, they should fit someone with a 50-52" waist if you normally have one Wear 38 inch waist, buy a size L and they will still be loose and baggy but acceptable.
