Failed twice on external SSDs

I might have been unlucky, but two of these didn't work for me and resulted in file corruption. Although I have Western Digital many years ago, it still works and has never given me any problems. Just wanted a second one for extra files and storage. Unfortunately this brand isn't for me and both make the weird sound I've read about. Not worth saying no, but the readable features and write speed plus glitches are enough to make me refuse to buy!
