I was invited to try this product and was skeptical when I first read that you just add water. I've used various ultrasonic jewelry cleaners in the past that required a special liquid. I couldn't believe only the water worked! If necessary, you can add a little detergent, but I didn't do that. My earrings, which I wear every day and don't take off, were very dirty. After a 3 minute cycle they were shiny and dirt free! I'm so glad I tried this product because it tells you that new products with low stars but high ratings are believable.
