Many years ago my roommate had a WRT54G and liked it. When I moved in, I got a D-Link router for $20, which I also really liked. After a while we received 2 Acer laptops and one of them was not compatible with D-Link. Anyway, I thought it was time for an upgrade and I would buy the WRT54G again. When I walked into the store, I saw this and said, why not! Sounds high speed and its Linksys! I had it for a few months and then we moved. After we moved in, my laptops were constantly connected to an insecure wireless connection from a neighbor of mine named Belkin. The signal strength was poor and I still don't know who has a Belkin near me but they always have internet! LAUGH OUT LOUD! So sometimes I could just switch back to my network but other times it wouldn't connect to my router and I had to restart my router and sometimes my laptop. This was the case with all of our laptops. Then they would sometimes reconnect, but with limited connectivity. So I was connected to the router, but the router was not connected to the internet. I work from home and let me tell you that my neighbor's Belkin router has often saved me from missing work shifts because I couldn't access the internet through my router unless I have my modem , my router and all my 2 laptops turned off and on again. February 10th. I chose a new desktop and that was Win7. I tried setting up the router and of course the installation CD didn't work. So I searched the Cisco website for a Win 7 Setup Assistant download and couldn't find it, although I've downloaded it in the past. So I chatted with support to get this link to download a setup wizard to set up my router on my new Win7 desktop and guess what they said! My router is out of warranty and I have to pay them $60 to help me! DO YOU MEAN THAT SERIOUSLY? $60 for a download link? You are joking! For $60 I can get 2 new routers. So that evening I decided to get a new one and unfortunately the only router available from Walmart at the time that said it was Win 7 compatible was the Linksys WRT120N. So I got it and it's even worse than this. I'm not sure what happened to Cisco since they got rid of the WRT54G routers, but after 2 routers that had to be reset constantly, I can't recommend Linksys products to anyone!
