Review on Enhanced TP-Link N300 WiFi Range Extender - External Antennas, Compact Design (TL-WA855RE) [Renewed] by Jeffrey Gallagher

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Everything done in no time!

I have five BLINK cameras that use two hubs and only had one router covering the entire house and garage. Most of the cameras only had one lane and were not connected to the internet at all. I decided to buy three of these extensions (PRIME Day, $12 each) and place them on either side of the house/garage and one in the middle to distribute the signal evenly. The color convinced me! The full 5 lanes on all devices, but better yet, they act like a wireless mesh, giving my tablets and TVs the full data rate the router offers. SWWMBO likes this! She can use Facebook from anywhere and chat without interruption! CONS: Setup was tricky, I'm pretty damn knowledgeable about connectivity hardware and have been in the field for a long time, but setting up the WPS button was useless, I'm pretty sure they used a router to connect, not work with my frontier router. I followed the PC portal's instructions and after realizing that some important information was left out I programmed and reset all three. ADVANTAGES: Power consumption is minimal, retransmission is very high quality and clean, very few packets are dropped during 1Gb cross-platform transmission. transmitted, roughly the same as a wired connection. My internet connection is very slow as it's DSL so the 300Mbps data rate didn't bother me, as long as I can send the 20Mbps I get over twisted pair I'm happy. The speed test on the router shows 19.7 Mbit/s, the extenders show an average of 19+- 1 Mbit/s, which is reasonable for our use. Conclusion: Clear data transmission at low speeds, no interference with other wireless devices, VERY inexpensive and inexpensive to operate. €12 each, I would buy them again at any time.
