It resets as expected! No surprises. The design of the toilet did not allow me to replace it myself. I used to replace a few toilet valves, so what should have been an affordable project ended up being two days off work and plumbing. The kit does not include a ring (which needs to be replaced if you remove the cistern from the toilet seat). Since I told the plumber I had ordered a replacement valve, he assumed I had the entire assembly!) The plumber came and I ran to the nearest hardware store to get a new ring for my toilet make/model, but took an hour after leaving it passed. I called the plumber, he said it was most likely a ring, turned off the toilet and left. Returning the next day with a proper American-standard ring, he repaired the leak in a few minutes. I would like the need for the ring to be mentioned in the product description when I place my order. (I would have ordered at the same time). So I'm giving the product one star for the inconvenience.
