Wow. I've been using the Dragonfly v1.2 through headphones and through my decent desktop speakers almost every day for the past year. I was very happy with the sound quality so didn't bother to improve it even though I knew the Dragonfly Red. However, the recent development of Tidal releasing their MQA encoded "Masters" albums got me thinking about an upgrade. When I listened to the Master on my Dragonfly v1.2, the difference was amazingly significant. MQA has its fair share of critics (for some good reasons when it comes to proprietary standards etc), but the difference in quality (compared to the newly booked Tidal HiFi streams) is huge. So I gave in and ordered Red. And it's a big step up from the previous Dragonfly (v1.2). I'm sitting here listening to Fleetwood Mac Rumors on Tidal (the master) and it's phenomenal. It's hard to believe how much detail has been added to everything, but the vocal harmonies sound very alive. Highly recommended even if you already have Dragonfly. Red is almost as big a step forward as your first dragonfly.
