Review on MikroTik hAP AC Lite Tower RB952Ui-5ac2nD-TC Wireless RouterBoard by Micha Spodymek ᠌

The product suited me, I will recommend it to my friends.

I initially took it to the hostel, but the channel is so cluttered there that no 2.4 GHz router will work normally, so we used it mainly by wire. We set everything up for security, set up Amazon - and you could easily bypass blocking even without a VPN (this is a feature of the operator). He worked there stably, the breaks were only the fault of the operator. Recently I bought a home instead of some cheap asus - so immediately the speed became close to the operator's restrictions (it rose from 60 to 90+ Mbps). The new operator blocks differently, but at least the VPN works, and that's good. 5 GHz in my speeds and response do not differ much from the wire. 2.4 GHz is already more or less stable on the phone, although it does not reach the level of the wire. According to the settings - yes, they are not obvious even once, but once I dug around - and forgot for many years. The router works stably, only sometimes it's better to install ates. . somehow I decided to bring 5 GHz into the house to my parents to replace the old Mikrotik, which already had breaks in some far corners. As a result, I had to put everything back, since this router did not reach at all in those corners, it even stopped catching at 2.4 GHz.

Pros
  • Works well as a router - stable connection, high bandwidth. There are also a lot of settings, various methods of remote access, iptables. The call quality particularly struck me at 5 GHz, but 2.4 GHz is also as good as it gets ( only in small spaces). Still relatively other mikrotik beautiful design. ates are coming out all the time.
Cons
  • Some settings are hidden in an incomprehensible place, and it will be difficult for a beginner to find them. At the same time, there is still a gap by default, although it can be removed, but you need to look where - all services are open to the outside. It is especially difficult to find the Amazon settings for DHCP so that the devices receive normal settings, and not from them. Earlier I wrote about problems with Disabled on the phone, but changed the phone, and the problem disappeared. . After comparing with other routers from the same Mikrotik in a larger apartment, I found out that his signal is noticeably worse (even at 2.4 GHz) than that of his older brother, although he only worked at 2.4 GHz. That is, the router is only suitable for small rooms.
