Review on HPD Half Price Drapes BOCH LN1856 108 by Paul Varnado

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Blocks a lot of light, doesn't quite black out

Look for mustard colored blackout curtains for a 94 inch wide window. There aren't many pre-built options. The fabric is closer to canvas than linen. They have a relaxed vibe, but at least they have some texture and look better than the usual smooth blackout curtains that feel like a mix of polyester and rubber. The lining is the same color as mustard gold (or goldenrod gold). like metal or yellow like real dandelion). So they don't work if you want all your curtains to be white so they look the same from the street. Curtains can be hung from the rod pocket or back tab. We used back tongues. They block a lot more light than our old curtains, which were marketed as "thermally-lined, energy-saving light filters." Sleep in the mornings (ie even after getting rid of ugly blinds). You will need a strong rod and drywall anchors as the curtains are heavy. Make sure the ends of the rod extend well past the edge of the window as the curtains are about 19 inches wide when fully open. You'll also need to iron or steam them; The creases do not simply fall out after hanging, but can be easily ironed. We hung them about 2 inches below our 8ft quilt (the pole was already there) and we end up needing to hem about 4 inches. This type of fabric is not elegant enough to look good in puddles. We used rods to open and close our old curtains, but the back tabs on them are too wide, so we have to pull the real curtains when we want to open or close them, at least until we find another way. for attaching poles. We would definitely buy more if we needed them for another everyday room. They are marked dry cleaning only, but most likely we will not clean them for a long time. Will post a revised rating if they quickly disappear or otherwise fail.
