I don't like drinking from straws, ESPECIALLY when hiking or otherwise exercising - does anyone else feel like you're gulping air when drinking from sports bottles with those spouts that you have to suck on the line straw? That's how most sealed water bottles are designed, but not this one and I loved it! I can drink from this spout as if I were drinking from a glass. Perfect! The bottle is airtight when the cap is screwed on tightly. It's been banging around in my backpack on several hikes and I've had no problems. The cap is a simple screw cap that is attached to the bottle with a little plastic rope (for lack of a better word). The magnetic closure feature mentioned in the product description has nothing to do with closing the closure - it just holds the bottle. The lid is on while drinking. Note how many ounces this water bottle holds: it's smaller than most.
