So far this is exactly what I need. I needed a broom compact enough to fit in a 50L hiking backpack to deal with the glass and debris on my bike route. Long locking handle, about the size of a traditional broomstick; You can sweep comfortably while standing. Tips: The end of the brush only rotates if you press and hold the round black button on the loop (press the protruding side up in the 2nd picture). If you force it to turn when the button is not depressed, you are likely to break the locking mechanism. The handle locks when you rotate each segment clockwise and unlocks when you rotate them counterclockwise. They don't need to be turned much: less than a full turn. --- I will update this review if I encounter any issues.
