Review on 🔥 SSRT Soldering Tip Kit for STSSVT by Stahl Tools - 4 Piece by Chris Quinto

I have ordered several sets of SSRT soldering tips from Stahl Tools (Parts Express) since I bought an SSVT soldering station over a year ago. Compared to the soldering iron tip offered by Weller (25W SP-23) in the same price range, these SSRT tips are definitely better. Weller tips degrade with prolonged use throughout the day, and the word "accuracy" certainly doesn't apply to them. SSRT tips are suitable for surface soldering specific components: traditional rectangular chip resistors, capacitors, transistors and various SOIC chips. I used a small chisel tip for almost a year (though not every day) until I decided it had deteriorated too much and it seemed like the "point" was coming off the tip. They last some time, but it has to be said that they would probably last a lot longer if they were made as soldering tips for more professional soldering stations, ie iron and chrome plating instead of ceramic material with a metal "tip". The way they are now made makes them difficult to clean and they will deteriorate after prolonged use. The way they are sold is also an issue. They are sold in sets of 4; with 2 conical points, 1 small chisel point and 1 large chisel/oblique point. The small chisel point was larger on the sets I bought this year than on the ones I bought last year. The large size makes it difficult to work with boards with limited spacing between components. When soldering wires to the small LCD screen I had to use a conical tip where I used to use a chisel. When ordering new attachments, I didn't need the whole set, just a small chisel attachment. Unfortunately, unlike other soldering stations, soldering tips for SSVT stations are only sold in SSRT kits. I prefer to buy individual tips in the quantity I need rather than a set.
