About a year ago I bought (through Revain) a replacement remote control for my 32 inch Sony Bravia TV. To my dismay, I dropped the remote less than 3 feet across the inch-thick plush carpet in my living room 3 times (seriously, not 4, not 5, or even 6 times, but ONLY 3 TIMES). On the third fumble (seriously, who doesn't drop the remote every once in a while?) the remote didn't work. I thought maybe the AA batteries died prematurely. However, when I opened the battery compartment, two VERY THIN pieces of plastic, about the size of a small fingernail, fell out of the remote. CHEAP CONSTRUCTION doesn't even begin to describe how poorly made this flimsy plastic replacement remote is! Accordingly, now I will be forced to buy another weak remote control because of the case extremely easy to break. 2 AA batteries (with 3/5 charge remaining, btw) accounts for about 2/3 of its weight, so NEVER, EVER use NORMAL FORCE on the paper-thin plastic body of this disposable junk! But what kind of person is this, trying not to throw away another planet's oceans, polluting the TV and trying to extend its maximum possible lifespan? A person is forced to keep buying those damn remote controls that are convenient for the pen, HERE'S HOW! Consumerism will be the death of this planet MUCH SOONER THAN LATER! And rather than throwing away a perfectly usable TV because the remote controls ARE SPECIALLY BUILT WITH LESS STRUCTURAL INTEGRITY THAN A TIC TAC BREATH MINT BOX, I will do my best to extend the life of this 10 year old Sony TV. POLLUTE THE WORLD TOGETHER WITH A PERFECTLY WORKING TV THAT HAS MULTIPLE DEATH COMPONENTS! Living in the decline of civilization comes at a price, but I'm doing my best to minimize my role in the general destruction of this one life-sustaining planet. This is seriously and with great apologies the least I can do before expending circular capitalism on one human fully participating in the 21st century, sad enough to say. At the age of 66, my financial situation was almost zero after the global financial collapse of 2008-2009, which is also one of the main reasons why I am struggling to make a perfectly working TV that still allows me to stay connected to everything .
