I work on the soccer referee team. As the linesman, I (along with my senior linesman) notice the progress and, unusually, destroy the game. I work with two whistle, a line to stop play on dead ball violations, then quickly switch to my finger whistle once we go live. It's loud, clear and durable. This is my sixth year and I just replaced my first. We don't use Fox 40s as they just don't cut through like the Thunderer. It's just a pity that the American manufacturer doesn't produce a comparable device. If you manage the game, this is your best tool.
