Review on πŸš€ Dynomax 17733 Super Turbo Performance Exhaust Muffler by Adam Mazie

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Dynomax Super Turbo

I had Flowmaster series 40 mufflers. Volume and 'airy' higher tone was amazing, no problem. Even in the car normal conversation and stereo volume was great BUT between 1800-2300 rpm (50-64 mph) there was a loud resonance (hum) in the car. It wasn't unbearable but definitely disappointing as there was a wide range of speeds and that's exactly where I ride 90% of the time. surprises at any speed, and the volume of conversation and music is where it should be in a restored muscle car. I ordered a larger 2.5" muffler to fit my 2.25" system to ensure there was no flow restriction. Flow test data from multiple independent sources shows that the Super Turbo is a very high capacity muffler. better than flowmasters. It's not always flow related as the entire engine combo is involved, but regardless I don't want a more restrictive exhaust than the one I replaced. My only problem was that the experiments aimed at achieving this goal were much more expensive than they should have been. This is not a problem with Dynomax mufflers, but rather troubleshooting an old system before buying Dynomax mufflers. The downsides I have with this style of muffler are the obviously shorter lifespan than a chambered muffler with no gasket and the loss of the Flowmaster sound. (love it or hate it - I really like it). The drone-free interior conversion makes it possible and the sound doesn't hurt. It has all the idle volume, high rev volume and sound that a powerful car and exhaust system should have, but it's not the same sound as the Flowmasters. Check out some YouTube videos of similar vehicles to get an idea. Yours are unlikely to sound identical, but the trends will be similar.
