Excellent muffler to fit performance parts and accessories

Has been working fine for 4 months. Big improvement over my previous muffler. I use it on a '07 Jeep Wrangler JK with a Dynomax Cat Back off-road exhaust that dumps gas in front of the axle. I wish it had a stainless steel construction. I would pay more for it. So I covered it with 2000 degree high temperature paint to prevent rapid corrosion.

Five stars for best exhausts and parts

Perfect replacement for my rusty super turbo. Great sound for a Porsche 944. *** 18 Months Update **** I heard a metallic noise under the car and thought it was a torque tube. It turned out to be a silencer. A crack has formed between the intake pipe and the muffler body. The muffler is spot welded in several places, but that's clearly not strong enough. I don't think I've ever had a muffler in the last 1.5 years (only about 5,000 miles)! in sunny California there is almost no rain and…

Slim and stylish for performance Parts and accessories

The previous owner of my truck installed a Flowmaster. Everything was fine for the first few months, but eventually I started to go crazy on the road. Tow a trailer? Better bring earplugs. As soon as the 40 started to rust, I searched the forums for a muffler with a near-stock idle and a low grunt came out when you pressed your foot. This item fits the bill. I could swear it got louder after the first 1000 miles or so, but that could be all in my head. Nevertheless, I am very satisfied with the

GREAT SILENCERS! about exhausts and parts

After reviewing so many mufflers I decided on this one and am very glad I did. Not only the price is good, but also the quality. But most importantly, I live on a quiet cul-de-sac and didn't want to disturb the neighbors. These mufflers sit behind a Chevy Vortec 5.7 with 10.25:1 pistons, COMP roller cams and full size Hooker manifolds. There is a slight grating noise at idle and low revs but not loud until I hit 3000rpm then they flow great and sound great. I highly recommend these mufflers if…

Added a nice deep tone to my 6 cylinder Ford Explorer Sport Trac.

Added a nice deep tone to my 6 cylinder. Ford Explorer Sport Trac truck. Not too loud but you know it's there, especially on cold mornings. Quiet on the highway. This added a little pep (hp) to the engine. Not much, maybe 1-2 hp (who knows), but I can feel it. I added this muffler at the same time as the low-limit OEM air cleaner, so it's probably a combination of both. Gasoline mileage is slightly better by about 1mpg. I sanded it lightly and painted it with 1200 degree high temperature paint…

Efficient, inexpensive muffler

Installed on a 2000 Tacoma 3.4L with rear axle access. It removed about 90% of the hum from the old crappy straight through muffler. This muffler was easy to assemble (took about an hour to weld), but it depended entirely on your car and your skills. Find the correct flow direction for the muffler. It wasn't on the muffler, nor on the box, nor in the documentation, nor on the website, nowhere. I installed it with a center channel forward (upstream) and an offset channel aft (downstream). Sounds

Dynomax Super Turbo

I had Flowmaster series 40 mufflers. Volume and 'airy' higher tone was amazing, no problem. Even in the car normal conversation and stereo volume was great BUT between 1800-2300 rpm (50-64 mph) there was a loud resonance (hum) in the car. It wasn't unbearable but definitely disappointing as there was a wide range of speeds and that's exactly where I ride 90% of the time. surprises at any speed, and the volume of conversation and music is where it should be in a restored muscle car. I ordered a…
