I installed batteries and made sure it worked, and put it in the drawer. Less than 2 weeks later I used it to peel cucumbers. After the first it stopped working. I installed 2 different sets of batteries and NOTHING. I set it on the table finished cooking and sat down to eat. My hubby touched the peeler and it was scorching HOT. So, hot I believe it could have caught fire. $23 for a peeler that works 1 minute. IF YOU HAVE THIS AND IT STOPS WORKING TAKE THE BATTERIES OUT.
