I'm in my 30's and have good hearing so I know the volume is bad here. In my heart, I can barely hear many of my podcasts or news programs. It depends on the show, but at max volume I was at the mercy of the sound quality of that show. It has to compete with the sound of water in the shower. but is that the point? The battery ALWAYS SUCKED. It takes maybe 4-5 showers (each maybe 10-15 minutes). I would turn it off immediately. But maybe it uses the battery when it's off to save time. Anyway, after about 6 months it started to last only about 3 showers. Now about a year later the battery is completely empty. It won't charge and/or just disconnects from the charger and immediately drains. I'm looking for a different Bluetooth speaker for my shower over time and everything here is around $20-$30 and I'm not too hopeful. that one of them is better. I guess for $20 what do you expect. It was good and took me a little over a year, hence the 2 stars. But it ended up being painful and just not worth it. I would rather pay $50-$60 even $70 for a quality speaker that will last 5+ years. But that doesn't seem to be the case.
