Well, to start with the scope, it didn't take me long to get from the West Coast to the East, I was impressed to say the least. I opened the box very carefully as other reviews have noted that the focuser is easily damaged. I haven't had this problem. The stand was very easy to put together which means I didn't have to mess with the pre-drilled holes for misalignment which was a big problem so whatever jigs a shy observer used to drill the pre-holes were perfect, thanks for that I'm an aircraft builder so I know how it fits and the locking knobs fit again great made with hole fitting now test, well 3 nights center rails and no rain. Then the night sky was perfect thanks sir only the hardest part was 8*temp brrrrr we struggled with that. Orion was a little further south, had just cleared all the trees and I was heading straight for the mist. Oh my god what a sight with a 25mm lens. I'm telling you, the fog looked the size of a dinner plate. Unfortunately we couldn't hang ourselves because of the cold, the next night I took it out again and the temperature was around 26*, much better than the windy night before, a few other family members had to be shown and they were in shock. Also, you're probably now wondering about the orientation of the mirror out of the box, the secondary mirror was right outside the donut and the primary mirror was just a tiny distance from falling into the center hole of my collimating laser, it took no time, both mirrors set. I generally ordered knobs for this for convenience, not because of the hex head screws, but because I can't lose the included wrench, drop it in the grass, or worse, fall it on the primary mirror. Alright everyone I can't wait for spring to see how I can capture the moon and planets I'm sure it will be spectacular haha I can't wait I have 3 other scopes as well Honey ETX 90 which is nice for a little sight. Had this one over 20 years old I think, the other two are a National Geographic 700x70 refractor, can't believe the $49 I paid for this, it works great with pictures, the tripod isn't great but it works, sams specifically for the club, it's good for looking at the moon with it, i haven't had a chance to spot walkers but another scope is a cheap bushnell 700x76 reflector that was able to see orion at night than we did used this new 10 inch skywatcher pretty good for such a small 76mm primary mirror still a keeper sorry for the long review just wanted to make sure your new i was legit well i hope anyway
