Absolutely Stunning Telescope

Really good value for money. The base needs to be assembled, but it's not difficult at all. The collapsible model is easy to transport and is well made. And the views of objects in space are really good. To be clear, Saturn for example is easy to spot but it looks like a big star but the rings are visible but you can't see the different colors. But you have to remember that you are not buying a Hubble. But I took a picture and was able to enlarge it a few times and it's a good image with colors

Pros
  • TEFLON BEARINGS: Patented Teflon bearings ensure smooth azimuth movement.
Cons
  • Worries me

It's heavy at the front and won't stay in place..

This would be a 4 or 5 star telescope if there wasn't a major issue. It is very heavy at the front and needs to be supported with one hand from the front or it will slide down. It's very annoying when you want to change eyepieces or look away and lose the object you're looking at. I made a 12 ounce counterweight for the back of the telescope and it's holding up fine now. In addition, the spotter's sight screw is not hand tightened enough to hold the sight in place and is prone to falling out if

Pros
  • Proprietary Tension Control Knobs: These patented grips allow for precise movement without the need for perfect balance.
Cons
  • Exchange Availability

The scope arrived with a broken set screw on the spotter's scope ring, but it's easy to replace at the local hardware store and we also bought a Telrad scope so no worries. We also bought a collimating eyepiece and a 2x Barlow lens. The base was easy to assemble (if you have additional functional tools that would be nice, but the tools provided will work). This is solid chipboard and they are all supplied in nominal condition. The scope and mirrors also arrived in nominal condition and once the

Pathfinder's Dream!

This is my first telescope and I bought it mainly for daytime aerial photography (aka "contrail detection"). I like this telescope very much. To be honest I'm surprised I got so many features for such a low price. And to top it off, it arrived within 2 days with Prime. I took it outside for nighttime observations and was amazed at how quickly and clearly I found and admired Saturn and its moons among the many objects. As an amateur, I expected much less, not having much experience to baseโ€ฆ

Pros
  • 94% REFLECTIVE MIRRORS: Multi-coated borosilicate glass primary and secondary mirrors provide excellent visibility.
Cons
  • I vaguely remember

Well, to start with the scope, it didn't take me long to get from the West Coast to the East, I was impressed to say the least. I opened the box very carefully as other reviews have noted that the focuser is easily damaged. I haven't had this problem. The stand was very easy to put together which means I didn't have to mess with the pre-drilled holes for misalignment which was a big problem so whatever jigs a shy observer used to drill the pre-holes were perfect, thanks for that I'm an aircraft

Pros
  • INNOVATIVE FOLDABLE DESIGN: The unique strut design allows the telescope to be folded for easy transport while maintaining collimation.
Cons
  • Periodicity
