Pathfinder's Dream!

This is my first telescope and I bought it mainly for daytime aerial photography (aka "contrail detection"). I like this telescope very much. To be honest I'm surprised I got so many features for such a low price. And to top it off, it arrived within 2 days with Prime. I took it outside for nighttime observations and was amazed at how quickly and clearly I found and admired Saturn and its moons among the many objects. As an amateur, I expected much less, not having much experience to base relative comparisons on. For my purposes this is perfect. The reticle is useful for astronomical observations, but serves only as a base for the red dot reticle (red dot for firearms) for my daytime aerial observation. This telescope is an f/5 1200mm zoom with my Canon EOS and I will be purchasing a compatible high quality Barlow lens. For true astronomical photography, I would recommend a telescope with a mechanical acquisition system and the ability to counteract the Earth's rotation. Not this area. I didn't need it. However, I exercise daily, lugging it around and looking for photos, but I'm fine given the amazing pictures I've taken. Inverter Trails is a great device that allows you to take incredible photos that you couldn't get without it.
