Review on πŸ” Sky-Watcher Flextube 200 Dobsonian 8-inch Telescope – Portable, User-Friendly, Ideal for Novice Astronomers by Adrian Summers

Revainrating 5 out of 5

It's heavy at the front and won't stay in place..

This would be a 4 or 5 star telescope if there wasn't a major issue. It is very heavy at the front and needs to be supported with one hand from the front or it will slide down. It's very annoying when you want to change eyepieces or look away and lose the object you're looking at. I made a 12 ounce counterweight for the back of the telescope and it's holding up fine now. In addition, the spotter's sight screw is not hand tightened enough to hold the sight in place and is prone to falling out if the telescope is moved or hit. The eyepieces are fine, but the narrow 10mm field of view makes it difficult to use and I've bought a better eyepiece. Pictures are good as shown by others. I wouldn't recommend this telescope if you don't mind building your own counterpoise and hanging it from the back.
