The scope arrived with a broken set screw on the spotter's scope ring, but it's easy to replace at the local hardware store and we also bought a Telrad scope so no worries. We also bought a collimating eyepiece and a 2x Barlow lens. The base was easy to assemble (if you have additional functional tools that would be nice, but the tools provided will work). This is solid chipboard and they are all supplied in nominal condition. The scope and mirrors also arrived in nominal condition and once the mirrors were aligned they were ready to go. The components are of decent quality and finish and seem to last a long time with proper care. The first light was a big full moon and it was very sharp. The kids agreed and I might make my eldest a junior astronomer. Jupiter was there and again did not disappoint. Clear clear views. Mirrors and lenses appear to be of decent quality. Pros: Easy assembly, very good vision after collimation, decent quality spotting scope, takes up little space in the house, eyepiece adapters are very versatile. Cons: Actually none. There could be more. :PEExtra: Telrad is not easy to assemble, may require an adapter plate. I'm in the process of building a custom mount.
