So far, so good. This fan assembly attaches to the AC68U/AC86U with a press-fit using small tabs that fit between the grille slots on the back of the router. Very cool. The built in air filter is good. It features variable fan speed and even at medium fan speed, it provides enough cooling flow to lower the CPU temperature by 25°C. The only thing to watch out for is that the fan tends to stall if the fan speed is set too low. I found it takes at least 1/3 the power to keep the fan spinning. No comments on the noise level as the router is in a noisy room. Update 03/19/2021: After some time I noticed that the fan stops even when the speed controller is set to full speed. If you turn the speed dial down and then back, the fan appears to spin again. This happens even when the fan is connected to a dedicated high-performance USB port. Rather disappointing. Looks like I'll have to switch to a traditional dual fan design.
