While in the same series, my router has diagonals on the back, purchased at the same time as the router, but with a delay. Easy to fix. Pretty loud fan. cranked, I think it moves air. I have it at 25%, when we're playing or streaming a video I increase it to a distraction from the ambient noise. The filter element is a very fragile foam. I'm deducting a star for that alone. So far, so good. This fan assembly attaches to the AC68U/AC86U with a press-fit using small tabs that fit between the grille slots on the back of the router. Very cool. I've had this fan for 10 months now and it works 24/7. It definitely cools the CPU of my ASUS RT-AC68U router. (I checked the temperature.) The fan speed control is great! I didn't have the stop problem as another reviewer mentioned. I turn on the fan at about half speed. There is no need to go higher. My router is in an unoccupied location, so fan noise isn't a big issue for me. I would say the fan is average in terms of volume, so I'm giving it 4 stars for this very minor comment. Swapping it
