She's doing her job. The instructions state that the straps should be at least 48 inches apart. We placed them a bit further and think that was a mistake. Our kayaks are 8 feet long and the ends seem to want to slip out of the straps. We had to attach the straps with additional screws about halfway down the straps to hold them to the garage wall. Only the holes that the straps come with are at the very top of the straps. Like I said it gets the job done and picks up kayaks off the ground so that's a plus!
