Review on ๐Ÿ”ง MOOG K500262 Ball Joint: Superior Quality and Reliable Performance for Optimum Functionality by Agustin Bush

Won't work like this

Bought to fix the wobbly clunky front end of a 2011 F250. This ball joint is for the passenger end of the front rail (Panhard) and is the correct part. The track is probably one of the most important components of the front end of a heavy truck as it keeps the entire front axle laterally aligned under the frame (this takes a LOT of effort). Press kit, decent mechanical know-how and an above-average selection of tools. I pulled out the old ball joint (have to cut the bolt off the old one with a cutting disk before pushing it out with a ball joint press) and then proceeded with the install. I had to make new ball joint washers to install them as part of the screw needs to face down as it will hit the frame if you use it in the correct orientation. After this was straightened out, this new ball joint did NOT go in the hole. Measured at a micron compared to the original spigot that came out and the MOOG was .010 oversized (2.070 inches)! It's too big of a difference to go into - trust me, I've tried every trick in the book and this isn't my first rodeo (freeze/heat, bevel grinds, etc.). I ended up having to set up a lathe and unscrew about 0.008 from the diameter and then press in as usual. Obviously, this is something most people cannot easily do. The quality is good once you get it. Mirror seat is good, sturdy boot, should be much longer than OEM. However, it was NOT delivered as sent, which is why it got a bad review. The problem is that as soon as you pull out the old one and find that this one doesn't come back in your truck, it crashes because you have to destroy the old one to get it.
