Great tool not a toy

I finally broke down and bought a microscope after accidentally erasing the serial number from the microchip by rubbing the conformal coating on the circuit board - this serial number is just painted on and is mine 99.9% isopropyl alcohol erased, it's like BAM! The polymer coating didn't even slow him down. All my other loupes are far from perfect at best and here they are just useless. I knew there should be microns of paint left, but I needed more magnification. I still didn't expect to get more than a vague idea of what printable characters might look like with each level of microscope. This thing exceeded my expectations in the first 10 seconds of use. Unlike the other microscope I have (a small handheld unit), this one zooms in up to 10x - usually when it says "micro" it wants to start at 60x or 100x. I read this in some promotional material for the product and honestly didn't think it could be that low - I decided this was a mistake. Thanks to a legitimate 10x zoom, an absolutely phenomenal LED lighting package (which floods the subject just below the lens with white light) and an adjustable material bench, I was able to get a crystal clear image of the remaining scattered patches of colour. on the relevant IC. I find the built in lighting package a great help - I really do get an enhanced image that is just as sharp as it would be if the color were fresh. The quality of the LCD is also incredible. For €99.99 I expected a lot less. So when I say it's not a toy, I mean it has the price of a "low quality toy" but works like a "great tool". In doubtful moments: It is useful to know that the PHOTO/VIDEO button is actually located at the base under the sample platform. It may also be helpful to know that the microSD card is compatible with the "microTF" card slot. At first I thought my new SD card wouldn't fit because it wouldn't fit at all, but then I discovered that there was an 8GB card in that slot. Not sure if that means mine was used or not but the manual says "not fitted with card" aka "sold separately" so I was pretty confused until I realized that something was blocking the slot. If you have a similar problem, be aware that something may already be there.
