Review on πŸ₯€ Oster Blender Pro 1200 - Glass Jar, 24-Ounce Smoothie Cup - Brushed Nickel by Luke Hodes

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Works very well as a home blender, it's not a Vitamix but I don't expect it to be either. This is perfect for my needs.

Like many here, I did a lot of research. This blender has a lot to offer. I ended up comparing parts from every blender from Viatmix to Ninja to Blendtec etc which made them work better than others. Ninja (I bought one [not from Amazon] but when I opened the package I found it had been hastily washed, repackaged and sent back. Obviously the first customer didn't like it. I decided to get it asap possible to return because 1. It had those blades that looked cheap and so much molded plastic all over the place 2. The spindles were too loose which made me think it wouldn't last long and if the lids didn't latch, it would they fly on me 3. 90% all parts cheap plastic studies show ALL plastics are estrogen not just BPA I have a 3 year old daughter who loves smoothies will not even try to use a machine like this 4. Jars crack often and blades should be replaced soon $$$ Ninja is in a class of its own Advertising hype and should never be used to compare a blender's ability to get the job done I digress Hype and learning how commercial blenders work, I decided to find something that did. With those features, an all-metal drive, reverse gear, plenty of power for home use, and a glass or stainless steel blender jar to reduce and reduce exposure to estrogenic plastics the cost of replacement parts. I found on ebay that the old 90's Vitamix tested had stainless steel jars and an average output of 850 watts. If I only need 850 watts for a commercial business, then I only need more at home. I'm not going to make the 100 smoothies a day Vitamix expects. The Oster 1200 pro averages 900, which is more than the older Viatmix 3600. Logic would tell me this mixer is all I need. So far I've made 4 smoothies and some frozen strawberry banana ice cream. I've read complaints from people who can't use it without the addition of liquid. Why don't you add liquid to your smoothie? It is important to lubricate the blades and not push the machine with too many frozen solids or hard handles. I've been using commercial Vitamix blenders at Starbucks for 5 years. Even these machines had to have a thawing time for frozen fruit, liquid along with ice and other ingredients to make smoothies and frapacinos. They really are workhorses, but I don't need such a workhorse at home. This blender is enough for me. It works like a Vitamix. It creates a whirlwind, is programmed, has a glass jug, doesn't budge from the counter (no serious vibrations) yes, it's loud (get a damper noise like you get in smoothie shops if that's a problem for you) Someone mentioned rust to their blades. do not rinse and leave. I run soap and water through a blender, then take everything apart and wash each piece, then air dry. I had to do the same for Vitamix. Both the pitcher and takeaway mug work great with the blender. The only downside I have is the lid on the takeaway cup. It slides forward when drinking, which is a bit annoying. Maybe add a locking mechanism on the lid? I have no serious complaints about this blender. If I come across anything I will update my review. All in all this is a great car.
