Review on Wi-Fi router TP-LINK Archer C54, black by Tawan Rungthip ᠌

Not a bad buy, well worth the money.

Great access point for very unassuming users :) In terms of hardware, everything seems to be fine: I worked for a month and a half without ever hanging up, though the load is only on WiFi and only 100 Mbps goes to the input, but the stability of the work does not raise any questions. I was very pleased with the sensitivity of the radio: large antennas allow you to increase the radius of dispersion of clients. The test for torrents went well - it holds the load - it does not freeze and does not fall off (~ 50 simultaneous downloads in both directions, I understand that there is nothing, but what is rich). But there is a spoonful of jam in this barrel of honey: the setup is too simple: no built-in console, no ssh / telnet server, there is not even a banal way to see the uptime of the router, and the logs are written with timestamps - the time interval from the moment the device was started (and not absolute time of the event). it is clear that this Wishlist is quite specific, but somehow you get used to monitoring the device a little more carefully for the first few weeks after turning it on, and the lack of such simple diagnostic tools does not add flexibility. In general, a simple and unpretentious device does not draw attention to itself. There is nothing to say about reliability yet, but according to past experience, the devices of this office die more often morally or under the influence of external forces (a brick or a power surge) than from some internal problems.

Pros
  • Easy to set up, large antennas - it catches / distributes wifi well.
Cons
  • LAN ports are only up to 100 Mbps, there are no some utilities in the firmware, but more on that below.
