Before that I bought two different new toasters and returned both. I had to turn the wattage down to 2 1/2 to keep it from burning, but it works. Very good toaster. Update 10/13/21: Not for pop tarts. One fell to the ground and there was no obvious way to get it out other than turning it upside down and hitting it. The small drawers won't let it escape, not enough room, the rest of the bottom seems attached to my many screws so I'll spend my morning taking my new toaster apart to remove an item that needs disposal from easy.
