If you just go point to point the cable works fine. But if you need to splice a cable or join multiple cables together (like you have to do to connect a house to a shared phone line), this cable is a nuisance. The strands in the cable are thinner than my hair. I spent hours with a razor blade trying to strip the conductor's thin coating without severing the tiny strands. Cut a few strands and you'll have to cut them all off and start over. Many more hours were spent soldering wires to add a telephone to several rooms. Tiny filament just won't accept solder, so you can never get a strong connection. Update: I've had issues with 2 out of 3 RJ12 keystone brands. Now I think the real problem wasn't the capstone, it was the cable. Only my instrument does not seem to suppress the will. I found that I had to take a small screwdriver and push it further into the V terminals to make contact. This is probably because the tiny stranded wire is simply deformed to fit V rather than cut and connect. Next time I will go with the main cable that was sold.
