Review on Amazfit GTR 3 Smart Watch, Thunderstorm Black by Jeong Hoon ᠌

Revainrating 3 out of 5

It works, but I don't think I'll be buying it again.

It was before I got that Amazfit gtr that I started using this watch exclusively for jogging. I enjoyed everything about it, but they sold it to Samsung, and about a year later, I made the decision to switch back to the Amazfit GTR 3. At first everything was great - I was happy - the presence of a smart alarm clock, keeps the battery perfectly, a large selection of workouts, but then a new firmware for the watch arrived and problems began - it does not withstand long workouts (running on the street), which are more than an hour, the watch itself goes into reboot and workout is not saved. It does not pick up GPS signals very effectively, and as a result, it gives inaccurate readings for both the distance traveled and the speed in kilometers per hour (I checked it with several applications, including Zepp itself, which was turned on simultaneously with the clock, the difference is decent). Loses contact with the phone on occasion, but does not mention it and does not provide any notification. After reviewing the reviews posted on the forums, I've learned that I'm not the only person experiencing this issue. I was really frustrated, and I emailed Amazfit about the issue; but, to this day, I have not received a response from them. During workouts, their primary functions are as watches and monitors for my heart rates respectively. It's really too bad.

Pros
  • I liked the watch's functionality and the form factor as well, however I have a lot of issues regarding how the application is supposed to work.
Cons
  • The watch's firmware and the Zepp application are both clumsy.
