I use these filters instead of the standard short version on both my classic K10 truck and the big block Corvette. . The nearly double filter media keeps the oil looking new for much longer and also adds almost a full liter to the usual 5 liter capacity of both cars. Both cars are equipped with modified high-performance engines, so the extra oil is a plus. You must ensure you have the registration for your specific vehicle before switching to the normal recommended short version. In my Corvette, the filter sits above the bottom of the oil pan and is therefore protected.
